SPECIES: Bernernites. This species is known to be very analytical with only a small consideration for emotions. It is not to say that they do not express emotion, but there is a time and place for them....which is rare. They are dedicated to their work of progressing their way of life efficiently.

LIKES: There is something about the color yellow that draws her attention, it could be because her own eye color is burnished gold. When travelling through space, she developed a talent for creating holographic images of animal species from various worlds on the computer systems, which is another unusual thing from a Bernernitie, as they do not usually do any activities for personal fun. She loves to eat small fruits that can burst juice into her mouth.
DISLIKES: There is nothing more disturbing to Yagara than insects (large and small), with the way they move and the sounds they make, they just freak her out. The concept of magic is childish to her, and trying to convince her it exists will leave her gritting her teeth. It is one trait of her people that she had inherited and cannot overcome, that science can explain every strange thing that happens.
UNIQUE SKILLS: Yagara has developed abilities such as poison and disease detection (basically looking for physical signs), soothing touch (her hand can cool the skin when it is inflamed), and cellular acceleration (this has been something that her people can do).
PERSONALITY: Yagara can be very stubborn and argumentative when faced with concepts that cannot be easily explained. She is, however, caring and attentive of others' needs, something that her people would normally frown upon, as emotion can get in the way to doing one's job. The alien can never understand how she is so different from her people and it can cause her some distress when other beings point this out.

GENERAL BACKGROUND: Yagara was raised by the female breeders until she was in her second life cycle (young adulthood between 12-17). She was assigned to be a Technician, working on repairs and maintenance of ship computers after entering her third life cycle (human age of 18-87). She did not like her work assignment and would often sneak to the sick bays to watch the healers repair organic beings instead of machines. Through her spying, she learned basic knowledge of first aid. One day, a new trainee got her arm caught in a propulsion system on the maintenance floor. The sick bay was too far away and the healers would not make it in time to save the worker. Even knowing that she would be brought before the council for going outside of her work assignment, she could not sit idly by and watch the trainee bleed out. She administered first aid and fixed the trainee up enough so she could be safely brought to the sick bay. Yagara was punished for violating the law of work assignment, which led her to look for a way off planet so that she might no longer be limited by the Bernernite council.
POSSIBLE IDEA:
YC is the captain of a ship that she has stowed away on after you dock to get some basic repairs from Planet Nimevo. She has been hiding out in the loading bay, avoiding crew members and occassionally stealing some food. YC has gotten complaints from crew members who have been missing some stuff and there is building anger among them. YC wanting to get to the bottom of this discovers Yagara and wants to return her home. She will have to figure out a way how to be useful enough to stay with your character.
